About Me

I'm Laura
I'm 22 years old
I'm an occupational therapy student at London South Bank University. Previously did a psychology degree at Aston University in Birmingham
I was born and raised in London
I'm Jewish and went to a Jewish high school, but I'm agnostic and don't believe in organised religion. I can't stand religious people who focus so much on being a good Jew/Christian/whatever and forget to be a good person
I went through a pretty long phase where I hated being Jewish, but I'm proud of my heritage and culture now, even though I don't believe in the religion
I can't stand ignorance, narrow-mindedness, prejudice, arrogance and self-obsessed people
I love music, and anything I say about why I love it so much would probably sound like a complete cliche, so I'll leave it there
Some of my favourite bands/artists are Death Cab For Cutie, Fiona Apple, Matchbox Twenty, Aimee Mann and David Ford
I love musicals and the theatre. My favourite show is Les Miserables, I've seen it three times and have the soundtrack and DVD
I also love art, although I don't have any artistic talent myself though (I really wish I did!)
My favourite film is Thirteen
My favourite book is White Oleander by Janet Fitch. Read it, it's amazing
I'm also a huge Harry Potter fan
My favourite TV shows are Lost, Friends and Sex and the City
I can be shy and quiet and I've been told I usually give the impression that I'm innocent, but I'm definitely not!
I like to think I'm caring and there for my friends when they need me, but I can be oversensitive and have a bit of a temper
I tend to think too much
I try to be the kind of person who does and says what they want and doesn't care what anyone thinks of them, but I'm usually too self conscious
I hate fashion and anything people do just because it's trendy. I always aim to do things for my reasons, and not for anyone elses
My journal is mostly friends only but I always like making new lj friends, so feel free to add me!
